Coloured map of Warwickshire from a George Humble edition of John Speed’s “Theatre of the Empire of Great Britain”. Inset are plans of the cities of Warwick and Coventry along with keys showing places of note. The map is further decorated with the arms of the noble families of the county and a small cartouche at the bottom of the map that describes a battle in which King Edward IV was taken prisoner in 1469. A description of the county appears on the verso in English. A beautifully coloured, strong dark impression in excellent condition.
